My city is voting today on a bond-issue; it's a one-issue-only ballot.
I thought long and hard about it and decided that since I know I will be relocating and therefore will not be around to pay for the bond, it would not be right for me to vote. [The decision was not clear-cut. I didn't see it as a black-and-white ethical decision, but one that was very gray. I understand why other people would go ahead and vote.]
So, for the first time since I turned 18 and earned the privilege and responsibility of voting, I did not vote today. It feels strange.
