My goal is for my household to be a bit over BA (have 2.12 times its expected net worth) by the time my DH is 50.

Starting Number (4/30/07) = 1.32 times expected net worth

First Year Quarterly Goals:
7/31/07 = 1.440 [Result: 1.510]
10/31/07 = 1.435 [Result: 1.569]
1/31/08 = 1.430 [Result: 1.541]
4/30/08 = 1.425 [Result: 1.400]

Second Year Quarterly Goals:
7/31/08 = 1.550 [Result = 1.515]
10/31/08 = 1.550 [Result = 1.444]
1/31/09 = 1.545
4/30/09 = 1.530

A Reminder That Life Is Brief

Found out today that an acquaintance (not someone I'd call a friend but someone I knew casually & liked) died suddenly at age 41, leaving behind his wife and 2 preschoolers.

If anyone reading this has people (or pets) in their lives they are responsible for and they have not done a will and other estate documents, please make it a priority.

Please also make sure that someone (spouse, partner, children) knows your wishes and where your assets are located.

So true. SSorry to hear about your aquaintances sudden death. Preschool children...that's so young to lose their dad. and his poor wife.

You took a very unfortunate death and used it to educate many.... a silver lining in the cloud to be sure.

It seems to be going around lately - 2 young people around here just died very suddenly.

That is so sad. Such a young man! It is always good to have your papers and affairs in order so that if God forbid something happens there is one less thing for the family to worry about!

Oh wow! We had our own wake up call this week too! The wife of my Ex-husband (father of my two daughters) called me Friday night to say that he was in hospital after suffering a heart attack. He's same age as me, 35. I spoke to her again today and he is fine now but required surgery to put a 4cm stent in his main artery. I looked at Dh and said "All the more reason for you to lose weight!" (my ex was overweight too by about 20 kilos I'd guess). But we really have to look at our wills, well, DH has to get one done, and I have to update mine to include DH and DS in it.
