My goal is for my household to be a bit over BA (have 2.12 times its expected net worth) by the time my DH is 50.

Starting Number (4/30/07) = 1.32 times expected net worth

First Year Quarterly Goals:
7/31/07 = 1.440 [Result: 1.510]
10/31/07 = 1.435 [Result: 1.569]
1/31/08 = 1.430 [Result: 1.541]
4/30/08 = 1.425 [Result: 1.400]

Second Year Quarterly Goals:
7/31/08 = 1.550 [Result = 1.515]
10/31/08 = 1.550
1/31/09 = 1.545
4/30/09 = 1.530

Product Packaging Changes: Anyone else noticing?

Anyone else noticing changes in product packaging? I recently bought 2 items that I regret. The packaging guarantees that product will be wasted. I certainly am going to pay A LOT more attention to packaging in the future.

These were my "mistake purchases":

1. Mayo in a squirt bottle: Squirt bottles work great for ketchup and mustard, but they do not work well for mayo. Too much squirts out, and once it's out of the bottle it's awfully hard to get it back in! This is probably because mayo is so thick. So, no more thick products in squirt bottles for me.

2. Sunscreen in a spray can: What was I thinking? I really should have know better! Half of it ends up in the air or on the floor. Misting bottles might be okay, but I think I will just stick to to lotion from here on out.

What you're paying for is ease of use. I personally like the spray sunscreen. It's a lot easier than the lotion, especially when you have three kids that can't wait to get to the pool. Not too expensive when you can catch it on sale and combine with a coupon.

I prefer the spray on. I feel like I actually waste more with the lotion because too much always comes out. With the spray on as soon as you let up on the button it stops. It's also faster and easier, which is great for screening the kids, I agree. Plus I'm a lot more likely to use it if its a quick spray and not a five minute rub down. Plus you can spray your own back if no one is handy. Just my opinion.

Okay, I can see the advantages of the spray-on with kiddies or if you're in a swim suit. I usually just have to get my face (which can't be sprayed anyway) and the lower portions of my arms and legs, which is why the spray for me was a mistake.

spray on lotion is GREAT for top of the head of little kids! (who take off their sunhat constantly)

I feel the same way when I see the relish in a squeeze bottle. That is a lumpy object. I would think that spooning it out would be the best way.

Companies with products that don't see big spurts of growth will always try to ramp up sales with some new gimmick, since hey, ketchup is ketchup, right? Sometimes they're good ideas, sometimes not.
