Hanjin Bankruptcy

September 2nd, 2016 at 06:48 pm

Well this was a news story that certainly got my attention.

I'm sure this is causing headaches for manufacturers, retailers, and transportation-related companies. What will the ripple effects be throughout the holiday season and beyond?

Korean Airlines is part of the Hanjin conglomerate. I wonder if the airline will be affected? (Anyone holding Korean Airlines miles? Are you more likely to try to use them up quick?)

Probably someone else will take up that business in a matter of days. The only people who are going to get hurt are the shareholders.

I saw that! This could make a noticeable affect on the economy here and round the world.

    That will be interesting...

Retailer's Christmas merchandise from Asia are likely on those ships somewhere enroute to N America. They will not be allowed berth to offload and will not be able to refuel. Lots of N American businesses at risk as Christmas is 'make it, or break it', for annual profit.

Sounds like it could make quite a mess with shipping and products. Interesting questions about the Korean airline.
