Note to Self: Might Want to Check the Minimums FIRST!

February 13th, 2009 at 09:33 am

As part of my on-going research on possibly going more aggressive with a small portion of our portfolio, I was researching US Stock funds at Vanguard. Saw the "Market Neutral Fund" and started reading about it ... thought it sounded a bit interesting (tho' quite complicated and would require MUCH more reading before deciding to invest) ... then I clicked on the "Minimums & Fees" page ... $250,000 minimum!!! Holy *@$%* Batman!

Geesh, 250k? That's hedge fund territory!

  2. Broken Arrow Says:

Crazy! I had no idea Vanguard had such a fund with such a steep minimum requirement.

Just make sure you don't put all your millions in at once. Maybe 250K/month for as many months as it takes. LOL.

    disneysteve - LOL!

thriftorama / BA: And the 2.00% expense ratio is most un-Vanguard like. It's just odd to me that they have such a fund.

We settled on the 500 Index Fund. That's much more our speed.
